Choosing a New Bed for Our Son
Now that are son is getting older, he’s ready to leave his toddler bed behind and move into a regular size bed. His bedroom is small, so we’ve been thinking about getting him a bed that has built-in storage to help conserve space in his room. Changes Brought About by HIPAA 5010
The need for an upgrade from HIPAA 4010 to HIPAA 5010 was to accommodate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes whose effective date of implementation isOctober 1, 2013. Another purpose for this upgrade is to provide a forum for the implementation of unprecedented concerns that the older version, 4010, had not been designed to handle.
Some changes that the HIPAA 5010 version makes to the affected transactions include:
- Information that is held but not of any use will be removed
- Consistency in the affected transactions will be improved
- The new-use cases that are brought into the health care industry can now be handled
- NPI regulation is now supported under the new version
- The new version provides clarification of information usage, thereby removing any ambiguities that may exist
